PACE SERVICES

Indiana’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) delivers a comprehensive, coordinated continuum of medical and support services.


Designed to help seniors remain independent at home rather than moving to a nursing facility, the program centers around an interdisciplinary team that manages all necessary care.

Core Medical Services

  • Primary and Specialty Care: Physician visits, nursing care, and access to medical specialists (e.g., cardiology, audiology).

  • Hospital & Nursing Home Care: Coverage for inpatient hospital stays and institutional care if ever needed.

  • Medications: All necessary prescription and over-the-counter drugs are fully covered.

  • Rehabilitation: Physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

  • Ancillary Services: Laboratory tests, X-rays, medical equipment, and supplies.

  • Vision, Hearing & Dental: Routine exams, glasses, hearing aids, and dental care.
     

Daily Living and Support Services

  • Adult Day Services: Socialization, recreation, and health monitoring at a dedicated PACE center.

  • Transportation: Round-trip transit provided from your home to the PACE center and for medical appointments.

  • Nutrition & Meals: Access to hot meals, nutritional counseling, and education.

  • Home Health & Personal Care: In-home nursing and assistance with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, etc.).

  • Respite care and support groups for caregivers

  • Social Work & Counseling: Mental health support and social services coordination

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for these services, individuals must be 55 or older, live within aspecific PACE service area, and be certified by the state as needing a nursinghome level of care. Services are generally provided at no cost for those whoqualify for both Medicaid and Medicare.
